BA Fine Art: IllustrationAdd to shortlist
Programme profile
This programme is offered at the Willem de Kooning Academy
Students of the Illustration department at the Willem de Kooning Academy (WdKA) learn to work and study together as a community. Within this community, the department actively encourages the broad range of learning opportunities made possible by contributions from individuals of various backgrounds and various approaches to illustration. WdKA aims to avoid constraining students within specific branches of illustration.
Programme content
The focus within the department is on three specific areas of the profession: narrative, informative, and authorial illustration. WdKA wants students to be able to share stories, provide information and express opinions through visual works. The progrsmme focuses on products such as publications, animations, installations, events, identities and games. During the programme, students progress from an initial focus on their major specialisation of Illustration, toward becoming skillful interdisciplinary practitioners active within either commercial, social or autonomous professional practices.
